ALL PACKED AND READY TO GO !

Twelve months of preparation is fast coming to fruition with our departure from Adelaide, South Australia, on Saturday June 9 2018.

The inspiration for the idea to hike 300+ Km's across north west Spain was conceived when my wife, Ngaire, read a book many years ago by the American eclectic actress  Shirley Maclaine . An integral part of the spiritual journey Shirley Mac was on at that time was her conquering the centuries old 800 Km Camino Francis commencing at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on the French side of the Pyrenees Mountains and concluding at the  Spanish north west city of Santiago de Compostela . From this moment it was top of Ngaire's bucket list. The catalyst to make this a reality sooner rather than later came after seeing Martin Sheen's film 'The Way' along with my enthusiasm to participate.

So, after 12 months of meticulous planning and various degrees of training, with the bonus of living in regional South Australia having easy access to a variety of walking trails, we are only days away from departure to Leon, via short stays in Southwest England to make a family connection and  to experience the 'city of lights', Paris.
